Hi
I'm installing underwater lights on our R23 and had a few questions for the group.
1. On factory installations, where is the on/off switch located. If on the dash, which one are they using.
2. I found a wire at rear of engine bay marked "underwater lights", but I can't seem to find switch to power it up.
3. It would be nice to have the wiring plan for the boat, the makers of the wiring harness should have a diagram of some kind.
If I have to I can install a switch, it would be nice to use one of the avail. dash switches to make things nice and clean. 😎
thx,mark

Mark,

I believe on the R23 we are putting the switch in the cockpit, starboard side aft corner by the transom door hinge, check there for the other side of the wires BUT I dont believe we power those wires from the fuse panel so it might be better and easier to wire them in by making your own "harness". Power source to switch with in-line rated fuse then might be able to use the wires that go to the transom but again not 100% sure. If you want to email me I can look into this some more and let you know for sure how they wire it if the boat is built without underwater lights. My email is in my signature.

Thank you,

Could you let me know how the light performs for you? Thanks!

Are you installing the same type of underwater lights the factory does on the trim tabs or are you installing the more commonly used lights that are mounted flush to the transom?

The light is basically a replacement for the drain plug. Very inexpensive and easy to install. It's def not as bright as some of the other lights we've seen, but its pretty cool. Check out the link above for more info
