I am wanting to add underwater led lights to my 25sc. I noticed that Ranger Tugs is now offering this as an option. To those who know, what lights are they using? Where are they being located? How well do they perform? Shopping/ researching LEDs online can be somewhat confusing as there are innumerable options with brand, color, mounting options, and light intensity. Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated. Regards,

I saw some installed at a dealers and it looked like Underwater lights were fastened to starboard then that was fastened to the uprights on the trim tabs. I did much the same thing on another boat with Submersible LED trailer lights, It was about $ 75 CDN and they had brackets so it was a simple bolt on. On my tug I used underwater lights from Hurley http://hurleymarine.com/hurley-products ... at-lights/ mine are just clear , no RGB There is no comparison, the lights made for underwater are much brighter. The advantage of mounting on the swim tabs is no holes needed below water for mounting the lights, and you can run the wires in above water .
Hop this is some help

Our factory installed underwater lights are the blue Oceanic LED ones. They are mounted on the trim tabs. We got them primarily for safety reasons, in case we or our dogs fall overboard at night. They are a lot of fun to use and do attract a great variety of marine life.

I had bought 2 lights from Ranger Tug (Richard) and install them myself off the trim tabs. Very easy
installation.

Are these battery operated or do I have to run wires? If so, to where?

Thanks

I used the house batteries which is close by and hookup switch, fuse and wiring and this is an easy job to do.

They do need power run to them. You need to drill a hole and run the wire to a switch. After you make the hole and run the wire you need to seal the hole. That is why I suggest drilling the hole above the water level. I was able to find a spare accessory labeled switch on the panel I used for the underwater lighting. It is all quite easy with the boat out of the water.
Good luck
