Found this loose in the battery compartment on my R27. Does anyone recognize it?

I have no idea what that could be. Will send to the other guys to see if they have seen such a thing.

Thank you,

Looks like a spring to some type of clamp

Could it be the spring inside a jumper cable clamp?

Very similar to a fire extinguisher pull ring. Perhaps a pull ring for something else.

Connerkip’s suggestion made me go look online and see what I found:

I’ll check my extinguisher tomorrow.

I’ve confirmed that the pin is from one of the replacement Kidde fire extinguishers. The pin is held in place by gravity only, if you rotate the extinguisher inappropriately, the pin will fall out.
Thanks all

So it is a pin on the fire extinguisher gizmo? It fooled me: I thought it was the doohickey that held the thingagiggi on the whatchacallit.

The pins (which are like that one) on my replacement Kidde extinguishers are held in with a thin plastic zip tie. The tie breaks when you pull the pin. I would use some thread that you could break to replace the zip tie.

I cut the ties and pins fell out.
Plastic ones had friction.
Added some bread ties that will snap easily.

We used to use copper breakaway wire to secure emergency escape hatch handles in the aircraft I worked on in service.

A good pull would break the wire quickly.
