OK - it's time for some photos of the R-29 in action - and a few more of R-21s would be good too! 😛

R u requesting photos or r u posting new R29 and R231 photos... confused. 🙂

He said R21s, Ranger 21s, not R231.

Yep -- understand -- my typo error -- sorry. 🙂

I think it takes someone higher up the chain of command to post photos to the home page, but if anyone has a photo of the R231 I like to see that also. 😉
Alex.

Well now, let us contemplate on the Ranger 231...
This could be a stretched 21... Or a shrunk 25... I won't even jest about 231 feet...
Anyway this is something for the factory to contemplate...
I would make it 8.5' on the beam with full sections forward for a decent berth... An offset cabin on one side to allow access to the foredeck... Perhaps some reverse deadrise on the stern... And some of those wave reducing winglets at mid hull which have the benefit of some roll reduction... Have it come factory with a full canvas enclosure - arrange so that fresh water from rain can be ducted to the tanks off the top ... Skip the fish tanks in place of water tight storage- or make it easily convertible... A stub mast with swinging davit and power lift for putting the dingy up top the cabin and a steady sail... A power winch on the foredeck - put a helper battery up front with it... And solar panels over the canvas... A fold away side mount for a generator... Folding table off the transom...
Put real effort into the molds to reduce hand labor on assembly.. A painted exterior as opposed to colored gel coat - easily repairable...

mmmm, yup.. Should do it nicely...

You are right. It is high time for some new photos. E-mail jeffmessmer@rangertugs.com shots of your Ranger Tug in action and I will post them on the home page. The more photos the better.

Thank you,

Ranger Jeff

Gee, the R-231 sounds like what I mentioned the other day.

My latest version: Take a R-21 EC and expand length to 24' not counting the swim platform and bow pulpit, expand the beam to 8'6" and leave the cockpit alone. Put the length and width expansion in the cabin. Make it a 15 knot machine.

Sorry about this as it was my typo that someone jump onto. 😉

Don't appologize - this could be leading to the next great thing in the Ranger Tugs lineup. I can just see it now: " THE NEW R-231, BUILT BY RANGER TUGS, DESIGNED BY TUGNUTTERS"

I just learned about this new boat from a friend in Maine. Boojum is an aluminum hull, trailerable boat with a huge travel range. More info found if you Google the boat name!

I'm not certain who has the most severe identity crisis, Boojum, or that thing Charlie showed us! Either way, We're all getting a little off task here. If we plan to have a R-231 design ready for Christmas delivery, we all better get serious. The Tuggin' public is counting on us. 😉

The new 231 should have the option of no aft seating for those of us who still drag shiny stuff around in hopes of putting that big smiley in the fishbox. Total storage for my new 231 sport fisher is is maintained by increasing the side storage depth only a couple of inches. Oh yeah, the walk around forward deck accommodates those of us with feet that don't fit ballet slippers. Let me know when my boat's ready.
