Getting a User Photo Album for your Ranger Tug is easy - just follow these easy steps.

  • Sign on to the site, if you aren't already.
  • Select the User Control Panel link from the upper left corner of any page. Note: On the home page, this link is in your user menu.
  • Click the Usergroups tab, then select the radio button next to the User Albums group.
  • Scroll down and click the Submit button, ensuring Join selected is in the drop-down box.

Once you do this, an email is automatically sent to the Photo Album administrator. Once the administrator configures you for an album, you'll receive an email indicating your membership in the User Albums group has been activated.

Once you've received the email, you can access your new album as follows:

  • Click the Photo Albums link, at the top of any page. Note: On the home page, this link is in your Content menu.
  • You should now see a "Your Album" link in the upper right corner. Click the link, and follow the bouncing ball.

Note: For those of you with Ranger Photo Albums over at the C-Brats, we can easily move everything over into your new album. Just follow up with a request in this thread, and we'll make it happen.

Any questions, follow up here.

I posted about 5 pictures successfully, the next 5 it said no pictures downloaded, my disk was full. Well , something like that anyway.

Heh...that's actually good news. It shows that quotas are working.

I migrated over all of your C-Brat photos, and there were a ton of them. Don't get me wrong - we love photos, but the gallery software has the ability to limit disk space used on a per user basis. We need to keep some limits in place, but it will be a balancing act to find out where that is.

The default is 10MB, which for most people, is plenty. However, when folks hit the limit, we'll typically increase it - but we'll look at things on a case-by-case basis, for now.

I just bumped your quota - you should be able to add things again.

Anyone else hitting the limit - the message should be obvious, it mentions "quota" in the error. Just drop us a note, and we'll likely bump your limit.

Also, while I've not found a way yet to let people query how much space they are currently using, the details are mentioned each time you upload a photo - you should see a message similar to the following:

You are using 342 KB of your allotted 10 MB.

Bill, I have now been assigned with an album. Please copy my C-Brats over to this album and I shall try to go from there. Thanks for your help and I would still like to mail a donation check if you have any info. on who to mail it to.
Thanks Ron

Greetings - thanks for all you do, including the album you've created for me. Please copy the pictures from my Belltown account (album is Moondance) to the new TugNuts album. Appreciate it.

Please copy Kolo Iki's album as well. Mahalo!

Just a suggestion on posting photos: The resolution can be reduced to save disk space. With today's digital cameras, individual photos can have a file size over 1 MB which means that the 10 MB size limit can be reached with just 10 photos or less. This high resolution is not needed for display on the screen. Using almost any of the available photo editing software packages, photos can be opened and then saved as JPGs at lower resolutions with files sizes under 100 KB and will display at screen resolution just fine. Keep the high resolution big files for printing enlargements and use the smaller files for posting on the web. On the down side, it's another step required before posting, and of course, it's more work!

The "Rub N Tug" would like her photos transfered as well. Please and thank you.

When it comes to computer activity, I think I am technically challenged and often ask stupid questions. My question is, when someone updates their album such as adds a photo, is there a way to know the album has been updated? I have noticd that the total number of items in the members albums has increased but I have no idea who has added. In wanting to see updates the C-Brats area that shows album updates is right there to show the changed album. What am I missing? Help anyone?

Thanks Ron :?:

Back to my question of over a month ago. Is there any way to know which albums have had additions made????? Yesterday we had 25 albums with 960 items and today we have 35 albums with 979 items. Am I lazy not to look at 979 items to see the new or am I missing something that others know or does no one like to look at new additions to the site?
This is a great site any I am sure a lot of time is spent to document neat things on your tugs and am sure you want to share them with others How do ""others"" know you have done something. Help please!
Ron

If there's a way to do it here, the Nerd knows how. Bill has one on the C-Brat site which lists album activity, not sure if it can be done here or not../

Still dont have info........... Will you be e-mailing my private e-mail or posting on this site someplace? Getting frustrated.

Greetings Sidetrack - the procedure for requesting a photo album is at the top of page one of this thread. I've also sent them to you via Private Message and email.

You can contact me directly if you have any more questions.

Cheers,

Bruce

While perusing posts and photos of Ranger Tugs on the C-Brats forum, I found photos of the boat we recently purchased that were posted by the original owner. I've attempted to contact him, without success. Is there any way you could copy the 3 photos of our boat under construction ("Hull 15 at the Factory") to the album you created for me?
Thanks.

Hi Joe, you should be able to get the full size picture up on your screen, the right click on it and then left click on "save image as". This will copy it to your computer (in Windows) and then you can upload them to your album. Maybe Bruce can copy them over for you, not sure.

Good Luck,

Got 'em.
Thank you, Herb.
Have a great 2013.
Looking forward to seeing you here in the PNW.
Joe
