Just curious if anyone has tried to use a weber grill attached in the aft cockpit for BBQing? Looking for interesting customizations. Thanks

I found this statement in the Q1200 owner's manual;

Your Weber® gas grill is not intended to be installed in or on recreational vehicles and/or boats.

It doesn't offer a reason for this, but I would suggest that you buy a marine grill such as Magma, Blaze or Kuuma.

I use a webber grill on my boat! I made a bracket, that attaches to the hand railing and places the grill outboard of the cockpit. Got the idea after looking on line of pictures of webber grills on boats.
The webber Q-1200 is the most popular, and a lot less expensive than the stainless marine ones.
The disclaimer on most grills are for liability issues for the manufacturer, as noted will cause cancer in the state of California! A little common sense and foresight as to placement and you'll be fine.
Happy grilling! Bob

A helpful hint on the Webers...

If you hook it up to the larger 20 pound gas bottle instead of the smaller one pound, there is a safety valve in the regulator that radically limits the gas flow due to the sensed higher pressure from the large tank. There are articles on the Weber web site about resetting the valve. Stick with the small one pound bottles. Lubricate the bottle threads with Dieletric Grease to keep them from rusting. (You need this stuff on your boat anyway for electrical contact protection). Also makes screwing the bottle onto the Grill easier. Remember to never store the gas bottles in the bilge, down below or anywhere where escaping gas can pool inside of the boat. A small bucket with a hose at the bottom that leads out the snubbers works well.
