V-Berth dimensions for 27 classic

for those of you how have easy access to your boats is it too much to ask for what the V-birth dimensions are? Ive found a good source for foam and am going to try a DIY project

I don't have the answer, but I do have a question. I'm looking for fitted sheets and coverlet for my new-to-me 2011 R-27. What I'm finding on line is uber expensive...$1,100 for one set. OUCH. Any less expensive options out there?? Thanks!

I did mine using a king size.

May I suggest a tight fitting bottom sheet with a 6" tuck on the underside with an elastic sewn into the tuck. I only made the sheets to fit the topper because the bottom cushions would be next to impossible to tuck under to keep in place. Then on the top sheet shape it to fit the V berth but make it extra large at the shoulders and then make a pocket about 18 inches, making it extra large to allow for 4 feet 😱 (yours and your partner) otherwise it would be uncomfortable. Use king size sheets as Mike suggested

Presently that is pretty much what we are using - king sheets - I did manage tuck it under the bunks - it works but just does not look crisp - we have a heavy blanket that we cover it all with.

we then found a good deal on some foam at Target - its one of those things we are here and the boat is there,,,, if I had the dimensions, I would take the foam and material to a seamstress and have her make it - she is very good and not to expensive.

I actually made fitted flannel sheets individual for each cushion. I did this because it works much better when and if you need to get into the storage. We also liked to keep the first center cushion out to make it easier to get into the berth and left it out most of the time.

We just added a 4” memory foam topper to our 2013 R27. The berth is wider than it is long so we bought the California King size which is 72” x 84”. The aft end of the v berth is exactly 84” so we put the Cal King in sideways. We then used an electric knife to cut it to fit.

From the scrap we did have to cut a small triangle to fill in a small area forward right where your toes go as the 72” width (now the length since we put the mattress in sideways) is just a bit short.

We were fortunate that one set of custom sewn sheets came with the boat and they fit just fine over our new topper.

And wow! Worth every penny ($122 on Amazon). Our first 5 night shakedown trip quickly revealed that the v berth factory cushions alone are a bit hard on our 50-something bodies! Our first trip with the memory foam mattress topper was an entirely different and comfy experience.
