I have been looking for information on the dimensions of the V-berth... I'm 6'4" and space is a consideration. Are there any photos of the berth made up? Can the head door be opened fully with the berth made up?

I have the R21EC and am similar size. I used to put a small crate at the end for my pillow, but have adapted over time. It's a matter of learning to use the entire space. There is a cushion cutout for the head, but we use a mattress over the cushions so using the head at night is somewhat problematic. I would highly recommend you consider using something like the Visa 246 http://www.amazon.com/Sanitation-Equipm ... B000FBNWYK porta potty. You can use it inside during the day and in the cockpit overnight. Great, flushable unit for a very reasonable price.

It looks like you're inquiring about the Cutwaters, right? Not sure which one, but you should shoot a PM to CutwaterMark and you'll get what you're looking for.

Cheers,

Bruce

I took delivery of my CW 28 yesterday, and I'll try to get some made up V berth pics on this post this week. Yes, you can open the head door with the berth fully made up. There's lots of room to stretch out...but then I'm only 5'09" and my wife is shorter.

Thanks I look forward to the pics and any other comments you have. I am considering both the Ranger R-27 and the Cutwater 28. I have a Ranger dealer close to me in upstate NY, but The nearest Cutwater dealer is much further away... I'm several months away from making any final decision, but major points for me are the size and accessibility of the V-berth and head. I'd like the additional turn of speed that the Cutwater offers, but not at the expense of livability. After you have your Cutwater for a bit I and probably others would be interested in a comparison to your previous boats in livability and handling. Thanks Again!
