Hello,

I have issues flushing the head. A lot of pushing back pressure, which means it has difficulty leaving the head clean after a flush and it bubbles back over the next minute. I am suspecting the vent for the waist water tank being plugged. How do I unplugg it? Maybe it is something different?

I have removed the hose from the tank and tried to push through a metal wire. The wire is only 6 ft so it did not reach the vent in the hull. I then tried, using a hose ( messy, so not recommended), and sprayed in the hose and then tried to spray from the outside and in. No water seem to go through in either direction. The vent and its attachment to the hose is not reachable. In the future I might add a door for this but I am currently far away from parts and service ( Exuma).
Your help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Patrik

It just so happens that the little rubber nipple on the end of a pumpout hose just fits into the external end of the vent line on the boat. This will apply suction to the vent line and at least give you an idea if it is actually blocked. This will not remove any solid blockage but might remove anything that will liquefy.

Thanks. I will try that the next time.

I've used the following method with success, I don't think using the pump out to suck the vent is a good idea, it will just get things more stuck. It's better to get the blockage back into the tank to be pumped out normally.

Good idea! I like it. See if I can find one here on the Bahamas.

Have you checked the Joker valve?
