I have a 2016 Cutwater C 28 that has the Volvo Penta diesel engine. And when it comes to filling the tank, it is very very slow going. I was wondering if anybody else is having this issue and if anybody came up with a fix for it.
Thank you, Brian

We have a 2017 C-28. Have you checked your fuel vent? A plugged or kinked vent hose might be an issue.
I deliberately ask the fuel dock attendant to set the pump on slow. That’s to minimize any chances of burping. I also don’t fill to the very top to avoid spills. Adding diesel is a slow process but I’m ok with that….

Thank you for the quick response. I did pulled the fuel vent and checked the lines. Sounds like it is just going to be a slow fill job. I usually trie to fill it in the mornings when the fuel is cooler and doesn’t foam as bad.
Thanks again and may the winds be in your favor.

We've got a 2020 C28 and the fill speed seems to vary a decent amount from fill to fill. Sometimes it is foaming even at a slower speed and sometimes it goes really fast with no spitting until it gets closer to the top. I don't know if some pumps have a better flow than others or what is causing it, so I always have an absorbent pad at the ready and keep close watch just in case.

Most (all?) the fueling dock diesel pumps in the PNW have two speeds: Fast (10-50+ GPM) and Slow (2-5 GPM). I’ve found Slow is typically about 5 GPM at the fuel docks I’ve refueled at.
Unless you specify the delivery speed you might be randomly getting Fast or Slow delivery rates depending on the fuel dock.
I always specifically ask for Slow speed. And yeah, sometimes that takes a while to get the amount of fuel I need. I’m don’t rush the fueling process.
