Recently discovered this service: http://www.vesselvanguard.com. The service distills the manuals (and bulletins, updates, etc.) of your particular boat into a detailed maintenance schedule:

Based on your boat model and installed equipment VesselVanguard turns all operating manuals, maintenance schedules, and schematics into an organized, easy to use, searchable, At-A-Glance application. Every maintenance schedule is programmed into the Notification Engine to produce a perpetual calendar of maintenance activities and inspections as recommended by the manufacturers. A highly dynamic master maintenance calendar results, with functionality that automatically triggers the issuance of emailed Task Alerts based on days or hours of use.

Any thoughts?

Not if one can read an owner's manual and can use a simple spreadsheet program or even draw up a simple work schedule on lined paper.

Like anchors, how fast or slow to cruise or almost anything else that revolves around boating an option like vessel vanguard will attract some but not others, it's just matter of personal preference. For me I'd rather have my manuals to read where and when I want and keep track of my service items on my own, that's just me and it does not take away from from what vessel guard has to offer. If what they offer works for you go for it.
