Another thing to consider... voltage drop. With a Victron battery monitor (BMV 712 or the SmartShunt), and a Victron SmartSolar MPPT controller, you can create a VE Wireless network. The BMV/SmartShut creates the network and shares voltage and current info, and the MPPT Solar controller connects to that VE wireless network to receive the voltage and current readings. This would help with any voltage drop that is present between the MPPT controller and the batteries in that the MPPT controller would know the real battery voltage, closest to the batteries (from the battery monitor) via wireless communications, rather than relying upon the actual voltage reading the MPPT controller is getting, being far away from the batteries.
