I just received my Ranger Tug R25 about three weeks ago. I have what I hope is a simple question. Please review the attached screen shot of my Victron Smart BMV. At the bottom of the screen it says under Input- Starter Battery- 0.03V. Is that normal? I know the battery is fine because it starts the motor right up (and it is brand new) If it is normal why does it read that? Is the Starter battery completely charged so there is no need for any charge state? For that function to work would I need to install a Victron battery sensor on that battery? Thanks Chris

That’s normal. Only the house batteries are connected to the Victron shunt. The engine battery receives charging from shore power, solar, and while the engine is running. To monitor the engine battery, you would need a separate Victron shunt installed for it.
