If I could figure out how to include an image here, I’d post a couple for you, but not sure how to do that on this forum.

You can post pics two ways. You can use the Img button/ tag (above the posting box) if the picture is available on a publicly accessible internet host (i.e. iCloud, DropBox, Flickr, etc.) Click the tag then copy and paste the URL of the image and paste it in. If you have a photo album on Tugnuts you use the g2Img button. Clicking it launches a pop up window which allows you to browse to your album, select a picture, and submit it to the post. Be patient - it can take a minute or so for the window to populate.

Getting a User Photo Album is easy but it requires submitting a request from within the site structure.

1. Sign on to the site.

2. Select the User Control Panel link from the upper left corner of any page. Note: On the home page, this link is in your user menu in the upper right.

3. Click the Usergroups tab, then select the radio button next to the User Albums group.
Scroll down, choose "Join selected" in the drop-down menu, and click the Submit button.

Once you do this, an email is automatically sent to the administrator (me). That message will trigger my ability to approve your request, and you'll receive an email indicating your membership in the User Albums group has been activated.

I'll watch for the message, and look forward to seeing your pictures.

i havent tried it yet, but the other option if you already have 110V and internet access is the arlo Q camera. Its wired and doesnt need batteries. It auto uploads and notifies based on movement. critically there is no subscription fee and 7 day video saved videos is included. we have these on our vacation home and they work very well. Also low light is excellent.

I havent checked the power usage of the arlo Q cameras but pretty sure its 5v at 1.5amps.

I have a few Arlos at home and they work well. I went with Blink because they are wireless, so can be mounted on the outside of the boat (IR motion sensors will not work through glass...). For the new generation of Blink cameras, the battery life is rated at 2 years under normal usage. I set mine to have a little longer default clip recording and more time between triggers. Any recorded clip goes to the cloud immediately with no subscription required. The camera video quality has been great for me. Kind of a nit, but the base module for the cameras to talk to with Arlo is pretty huge and with Blink, it is really tiny, so easy to have the whole thing out of sight. Either system will be down if power goes out, but even if batteries only last 1 year, then thats worth it to me to not have to run wires from inside the boat to outside.

With Blink you don't need AC power. You can connect it to a USB port for power. I leave my battery charger on so my batteries are always fully charged. Running on a USB port, even if the power goes out or someone pulls the plug, the system stays up and will stay up for a long, long, time. You can buy a very inexpensive USB adapter to plug into a 12 volt socket on your boat to keep Blink alive or charge your phone.
