Hi All
Had an issue with trim indicator - sensor - or? Engine would not start, display was showing the trim out of range (red #’s) but trim switch would not work up or down. We could see that the outdrive was all the way down and good to go. We were able to override trim fault by holding the start button down for 5 sec. Engine started no problem but still could not adjust trim at all. After a few starts, stops and power downs a was able to get trim switch to work down. After a short trip and a few more starts and stops trim switch worked both ways and no override needed to start engine but the trim degrees are definitely not accurate (but they are green so engine starts). Anybody ever had this issue? I’m thinking there is a bad sensor or just a glitch in computer. Not sure how to reset trim status? Any help or advice would be great.

Hello Mark,

Please shoot me an email at timbates@rangertugs.com and I will send you a PDF with directions on how to recalibrate the trim on the outdrive.

Have you checked the trim fluid to ensure you aren't running low?

Thanks,

-Tim

Hi Tim
Fluid level was all good. The recalibration instructions work perfectly. I’ll add it to my owners manual and album. Thanks again for helping out 😀
