With the planned closing of the Ranger Tugs Parts Department I am searching for a reliable source for Volvo Parts, especially for the routine every year filter changes. I have no Volvo diesel service provider anywhere near my home, thus I expect I will have to buy on-line. I-Boats, an on-line retailer that advertises they have parts for Volvo's, does not even list the new D-4 320 - G engine. I am interested in what sources others have found that are good for Volvo parts. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I buy most of my Volvo Penta parts from Pacific Power Group in Vancouver, Washington. Good prices with excellent service.

PPG is great. Also recommend marine parts source.

PPG will ship basically anywhere...

Permanent. They posted about it a while back.

Here is the original post explaining the closure of the parts department.

Parts department

by Andrew Custis on Fri Jul 15, 2022 8:53 am

Hello Tugnuts!

I wanted to reach out and personally let you know that all of us at Fluid Motion have come to a conclusion that it is time to shut down our in house parts department. This doesn't mean that we are going to turn our backs on anyone but, it means that we will help direct you to different companies across the US that will be able to better serve your needs when it comes to finding the part or piece you might need for your boat. As everyone knows, parts have become quite a tough thing to acquire and an even harder thing to try and track where they might be once you order them. For the next few months, we will be working with local companies that purchase from many of the same vendors we do to help bring in some of those hard to find parts to make it easier on you to locate the stuff you need.

Anything we have remaining in the parts department we will continue to sell until it is gone. We will still be offering solutions on purchasing parts that are built specifically for our company that cannot be purchased anywhere else. This is a small list of things but, some of those items will include custom glass pieces.

If you have questions about where to find a part or to see what we have remaining for sale, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,

Andrew Custis

I Boats is Volvo Penta's online service. They are a distributer throughout US. When I had my D3 Volvo all my parts came from there. They may have not updated the model numbers yet but I'm sure any parts you need you can purchase through them.

anyone found good parts prices?

pacific power group is twice the price what ranger charged

e.g. impeller kit was 37 at ranger now its 65 at PPG

I have had success using Amazon or even Ebay for great prices on Volvo parts.

the one that gets me is the crankcase filter. $148. ridiculous.

it's volvo. You should be expect to be extorted at every opportunity for parts from them. 😀

For the Volvo Crankcase Ventilation Filter (#3584145) for the D4 engines, the Mann LC 5001 X filter is an equivalent. Many tugnuts have used it in place of the $$$$ Volvo part. I just received a pair of LC 5001 X filters from Diesel Filters Online of Towaco, NJ for $42.22 each shipped. I can report that they are genuine Mann filters, not the typical cheap Chinese $12 knockoffs sold elsewhere.
I have also had good success with marinepartssource.com as mentioned above for other D4 filters.

I have a D3 and the unbelievably priced crankcase filter is number 21368879. I asked Mann+Hummel in Germany who told me that the equivalent filter is LC 7002. Of course they won't sell it to me directly but I can't find anyone who stocks this item. Has anyone else had any luck? I did try the guys in New Jersey but it's not an item they stock.

Just got a quote for 12 LC 7002 filters shipped from the UK. It was 564.86 excluding VAT. To be honest I don't know if VAT would apply but if it does cost 677.83. With VAT that comes to 56.48 per filter. If anyone wants to put together an order let me know. Shipping appears to be the same for one filter or multiples so higher quantity will reduce cost per filter.

I’m interested. I sent you a private message

I would be interested but unfortunately I would then have the problem of importing again from the USA.

Just received 2ea. Mann LC 7002 filters I ordered online from Spareto. (https://spareto.com/) Cost was $36.80 ea. with FedEx priority shipping @ $26.03….for a total cost of $99.63. These filters look better than OEM. Thought I would share….
Regards,
Snydzy

Thanks for the update on quality of filters. I have 12 coming next week. 9 have been promised to other tug nuts. Cost was basically the same as yours.
