VolvoPenta D-3,-4,-6 Label Recall

Anybody else get a letter from Volvo announcing a recall of the printing (which may have faded) on the EPA certification label on the engine? As a retired federal bureaucrat, I'm not sure whether to laugh, cry, or cringe.

Yowie, this is big news. I'm still waiting to get busted for ripping the tag off my mattress. They won't take me alive!

If the letter had arrived a month later, I might have figured it was an elaborate April Fools prank...but that might mean making some wild assumptions about the Swedish sense of humor.

This seems like a great way to get a free visit from a Volvo certified mechanic. Where I am we have to pay travel time for the mechanic to come to the boat, so I plan to use this recall next time I need the mechanic.

This label must be the one that our volvo tech contacted us about last year (2015). As ttltech mentioned, it was a way for us to get the tech to our boat for "free" - which is normally about $100 for their drive over from Kent Island, MD. He put the new sticker on and we did engine and generator servicing, oil change, etc since he was there.
