Wabasto Installation on an R-31

Anyone know where Ranger installs the wabasto on an R-31? I am considering (but haven't decided) installing diesel heat (Espar or Wabasto). I like the idea that it will work even without shorepower or generator - unlike the reverse cycle A/C units.

Not sure where the factory installs a Wabasto on the R-31, but mine was installed after market and we installed it behind the stove. There was plenty of room back there. The advantage of installing it after was also that we ran vents into the v-berth, head and cave and have very good distribution. Another thing that we did was instead of putting another thru hull in for the fresh air we ran a line back to the cockpit under the gunnel.

i think I have seen a 29 install there as well. Where did you put your exhaust?

The exhaust is through the hull about 2 feet forward of the unit.
