I have found a hose bib at the port side stern corner of boat. Is there also a bib somewhere forward at bow, for anchor wash down, or do I run a hose forward from stern to wash down anchor. I know where switch is. New boat to me, seems like I would have a 27 foot boat figured out after a couple of weeks!

According to Ranger Tugs, they do not run PEX raw water lines forward off the washdown pump due to difficult access up front in case there is a leak. I asked them to do it when they built my RT31CB and they wouldn't do it.

That being said, others have done it post delivery.

I run a 50' Slinky Garden hose off the raw water outlet to the bow. For me, it's KISS.

You have two choices, Run a hose up to the bow or install a anchor wash down. The first year we had the Cutwater C26 we did the hose run. It wasn't bad when we were boating on Lake Michigan because the bottom is either rock or sand in the areas that we anchored. We then took a trip down the river systems and the need to drag the hose up to the bow was every time the anchor came up. I ran a braided pressure hose 3/4" up to the bow. I installed a ball valve in the engine compartment that was easy for me to access and a water connection in the anchor locker. This gave us raw water wash down in the aft and the bow.

Hey, thanks for response. For now will just run hose forward as you did.

Hello,

There isn't any hose fittings by the bow for a wash down, but there are some great response for some work arounds. A longer wash down hose would be an easiest way to reach the bow.

Be careful of running that hose forward. It's very likely that it might slip off the side and into the water. It's not very likely, but possible that you might even drift towards shore, and you might have to nudge it away with a quick touch in gear to steer clear. And then it would be very likely that it will get caught in the prop. Then you would have to suit up in your wet suit and unwind such hose. Forget about using a knife, you’ll just drop it. You got any idea how hard that would be to push yourself under the swim platform with that wet suit on, constantly pushing you to the surface? Why I bet you’ll only get one wrap per breath! Wow, that it would be so exhausting! I’m thinking if you choose to just run a hose forward over the deck, I suggest thinking about all the possibilities. The good thing is, is that beer would taste great after all that effort! Maybe those outboards wouldn’t be so bad after all! Just saying…

I plan to add a wash down hose bib to my anchor locker of me R31cb. I’ll post the process when I’m dry one.

On a C28, it is possible to reach the prop while under the swim platform with your face out of water. Don’t ask me how I know…

Some people get all the luck!
