Water in Cave, No water from faucets

Hi All,

I have two problems which I suspect are related; I have water in the cave of my 2015 R-29S and no water anywhere else (kitchen faucets, bathroom shower/faucets, toilet). I suspect there must be a waterline broken somewhere. Any thoughts/guidance about where I should start looking for the source of these problems?

I had two leak sources in the cave. First, and most common, is the small exterior courtesy light. Comes off easy and needs occasional re-bedding with silicone. Second leak came from the aft window, which only required a tightening of the screws. However, I had to put in new gaskets around two other windows because the sun on that side deteriorated them.

You may have two unrelated issues, so to make it easy rule out the easy one first. Turn off your water pump, clean up the water. Make sure you have water in your tank. Turn on the pump and listen for it to cycle. If it keeps cycling when not using any water you have a leak. Now search for the leak. If the pump does not keep cycling you may have a broken pump, a clogged strainer at the pump or clogged strainers in your faucets or facet lines.
Leaks in the cave could be as stated above, the courtesy lights, window seals or bolts related to the cleat. Water can start anywhere and where it is coming out is not necessarily where the leak is. Just keep looking and hopefully you will eventually find it.

As noted by knotflying and dante3756, you might have one or two issues:

1. IF you can hear the fresh water pump cycling, but no water at any faucet, then you might have a leak in a water line near the cave. In that case, you can crawl into the cave to the forward bulkhead and remove it. The bulkhead is held in place with a number of screws. With the bulkhead removed, you can see and access most of the water lines and connectors that go to the shower and faucet in that area. Look for a leak there. (Note: These comments apply to the R29 classic and the R31)

2. IF you do not hear the fresh water pump cycling, then you might be getting water in the cave from the items noted by knotflying and dante3756 and the pump might be a problem.

Had water in the Cave on my C28 just after delivery. Turned out that the water inlet (from the tank filler port) was loose at the tank.

When the tank was filled for the first time the loose clamp connection spilled water into the Cave.
