Found water on floor in front of aft head in our R31CB after an inch of rain.
Little side windows? Stains on monkey fur on both. Any advice fixing?
Sealed courtesy light previously.
Pressure water stayed 20 hours after shutting off pump, so doubt that.
any ideas?

Hello,

You want remove the rat fur panels so you can see if there is a sign of the leak maybe coming forward and running back aft. Also depends on where you are seeing the current stains, if they are above the two port windows I would doubt they are leaking.

Thanks,
Kevin Lamont

Check the courtesy light near that area. Well known source of leaks.

Thanks. Already did light. Should has said below port windows. Plan to turn boat around to bring port to pier and rebed both.

Kevin was right. Removed panels and it rained on me. All coming from courtesy light. See pictures of light, panels and ports in my album. Taped over light for now, will have to turn boat around to reach, remove and rebed. Will also do other port ones, dit starboard a couple of years ago. Can these lights still be bought?

Well back to square 1. Signs of leaking by courtesy light. Saw water dripping from wires this AM.
Taped over it this AM. 1.8" rain, 4 gallons came in. Pressure water was off.
What next. See pictures of panels in my photos.

I do not know all the accessories installed on the outside of a 31. Looking at your pictures and the amount of water you are getting in (4 gallons) The leak is coming from an area that the water naturally flows during a rain event. The aluminum deck extension above the port windows would be a suspect. I removed and sealed the extensions both sides of my C26 because the starboard side was leaking when we purchased the boat and I found no sealant was used to mount the extensions. The rub rail would be my next suspect. The water can be entering the rub rail forward of where the leak is and draining to an area that has a path to leak into the boat. Remove the panels that are water stained. Dry the area up as best that you can. Place a hose on the bow port side and let the water run full hose with no nozzle. The water needs to have a steady flow draining off the deck from bow where the rub rail drops down the side to the stern just past the bulkhead where the panels are that are removed. It may take a while for the water to build up before you see the leak. When looking for a leak it can take 5 or 10 minutes of running water before the leak appears because the water has to build up before it drains through the leak path. This is one of many area's it can be coming from it is a process. Good luck.

I had a bad leak in the bow of the boat under the anchor roller. The water was seen 5' from where it was coming in. It took two years to find the leak. I found it by chance during a hard rain with 40 to 50 mph wind gust.

One of the photos shows the rub rail mounting screws with no sealant on them. This is ok as long has the rub rail is sealed good but if there is an area that it is not then the water can leak by the screws. Finding's the source of a leak can be a PIA.

Thanks Brian
Going to turn boat around port to pier.
Then can rebed lights. one by dinette seems dry since sealed, but will do all
garden hose good idea.
coming off roof for sure.
may be a week or two until results.

Remembered no water since light sealed , until canvas installed.

Removed canvas by ice maker and Command Bridge steps.

Found a very loose snap screw by forward side curtain track, where water from roof will run a few inches aft of light. Removed and taped over.

Will see what comes in with tonights rain only about 1 gallon last night.

I am pretty sure it is not the light, sealed a couple of years ago,, and tape over last two rains.

Still plan to turn around and hose down.
