We had a lot of water on the boat this past weekend and some water got into the charger / inverter. It stopped working, so I pulled the cover off and put a little cube heater on it to dry it out. Fortunately by the next morning after I flipped the ELCI it came back to life. Let's hope the life span is not shortened too much. I had already added additional foam tape under the hatch but even with that water got in.

Trying to protect it I found some plastic carpet runner at Ace hardware and attached it under the hatch seal to act like a shower curtain for the inverter to keep water away from it. I have a picture in my photo album of what I did.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on keeping this critical piece of equipment dry?

Anything that will divert the water is good. I know someone who did a more sophisticated job and used a piece of Plexiglas that they heated up and molded to the gutter shape underneath and fastened it and it was angled out. Always thought it was in a bad spot on my R-27.
