Hello All,
I finally found where the mildew smell is coming from on my C28. I was replacing my transducer, which requirement to remove all the side panels from my underside berth and I found that the potted water tank was sweating like crazy. The sweat then runs down the side and seeps into all the panels, carpet, and padding. All the panes had mildew and the boards were starting to rot.
I've removed all the panels and padding and I'm in the process of cleaning them. I'm not sure yet if I'm putting them back in or not since I'm planning on making it more storage then someone actually sleeping down there.
From my research, it sounds like I need to add some insulation around the tank. There seems to be a couple of options, either wrap it with an insulated blanket/wrap or there's a paintable material that will do the same thing. I don't really want to pull the tank, so I'm thinking a good insulated wrap.
Here's my question...
What's a good wrap to use? It can't be too think as I don't have that much room, maybe max 1" think. Have any of you had this experience and what exactly did you use to solve the problem?
Thanks
Scott
