I have a 2012 blue Ranger 29, The hull has some oxidation. I just spent over 6 hours working on one side of the boat (from the water line to the deck). I started w/ 3000 grit sandpaper (wet), then rubbing compound w/ a orbital buffer & then a clay bar. Right now the oxidation is gone, I am looking to see if anyone has found any of the ceramic products to be worth the cost or the best long lasting wax.
Thanks,
Matt Murphy

My trusty assistant spent seven solid days last month compounding and buffing our 2012 blue R29 using Meguairs products, and finishing with their liquid ceramic wax. The results were quite pleasing, but not as durable as a proper (expensive) ceramic coating. We'll likely put the boat back onto its trailer in November or December and put it into a heated hangar for another buff and a full ceramic job.

I am fairly experienced in the area of ceramic coating. Full disclosure: mainly my wheeled-vehicles. However, I recently had Kevin at Premier Custom Ceramic Coating do a full correction and ceramic coating on our 2020 R23. This is my first boat to be ceramic coated. He did an amazing job!

It's been only about 5 months now, but I have put many, many miles/hours on her, and the ceramic is holding up extremely well!

My last boat was a blue hulled monster that oxidized quite badly every year, to the point where we hired crews to do the full wet-sand and numerous coats of expensive polish. The amount that I spent on that bugger over the last 8 years to keep it looking nice could have afforded me many, many ceramic coats!!

If I had only known then what I know now!

I'm a big proponent of coating with ceramic!
