So all the utube video on boat waxing, seem to focus on the hull. What about all the above deck vertical surfaces?

We have done the dark blue hull twice a year since owning our Ranger Tug R29, but until now have just washed the superstructure. It was starting to look a little faded and spotty, especially the dark blue eyebrow. The white areas don't show the effects of weather and oxidation like the colored areas, but it's still there. We just finished doing the superstructure, and it made a big difference in the appearance of the boat. We used a one step color restorer followed by boat wax. The dark blue trim showed the biggest improvement, but the buff colored band around the base of the cabin is much shinier as well. We also applied rub rail restorer to the black rubber. I suspect it's the same stuff sold at auto parts stores for use on tires. The whole boat now looks almost like new.

In the spring every exterior surface of the boat gets some type of treatment. All gel coated fiberglass gets a coat or two of wax. skidless gets treated. "teak" gets oiled. stainless gets polished. Keeps you out of the bars.
