Closed on our 2012 R-25SC today. If all goes well with Uship we expect delivery at our Lake Norman NC home on Saturday morning. For now our plan is to keep her at LKN for a few months before we begin trailering to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The ICW is calling our name.

Current name is Miss Charlotte however we intend to have a renaming ceremony with her new name being "Inshoreance"
(My working career was with a major P & C carrier) Hope to see many of you good folks on the water.

We’re also new Tugnuts with a 2011 R29. We’re in Southport and keep SEA SHANTY at the Southport Marina. We had her trucked from Maine; arrived yesterday.

That's wonderful Bob. Our place is on the ICW directly in the center of the Shallotte Inlet. Hopefully you will see our "Insureance" hanging on a cable lift as we begin construction of our retirement home. The pier has a WV license plate attached. If you guys are up for an ICW cruise we'd love to meet up sometime.

Welcome to you two new owners. Tugnuts is a wonderful group, willing to share knowledge and experiences. Do you need to winterize your boats this far south?

Welcome Aboard, We have a 25 Classic and Love Her.

I've never fully winterized however I will occasionally leave a 60w bulb burning during a cold snap. It will probably catch up with me one of these years but so far it's been all good. I'm right on the NC/SC line. Any farther north and I wouldn't feel safe.

Shipper just left Gulf Port MS with our R-25. His plan is to drive all night and it is pouring rain most of the way to Mooresville NC. 663 miles...….What could possibly go wrong?

Fingers crossed for safe travels. Expect delivery around 7am in the morn if all goes well.

Congratulations.... welcome aboard the Tugnuts. 🙂

I winterized totally last year. I'm in the water covered slip with very dependable shore power. No one winterize here in North Alabama. This year I'm putting 2 goldenrods in the engine compartment with a circulation fan and 2 Caframo Limited 9206CABBX True North Heaters with an anti-freeze setting that goes on at 38*. I check on boat at least once a week.

I like taking her out year round.

Congratulations Bigdealsam. I joined Tugnuts earlier this year. Wonderful group. Very helpful. I used UShip several years ago with another boat, worked out very well.

Welcome aboard.

Uship driver just arrived at our Lake Norman NC home with our R-25SC. His 12 hr planned delivery from MS to NC turned into a 20 hr marathon with two flat tires on the trailer (dry rot tires were NOT disclosed in the marine survey) plus an unplanned stop at a tire store somewhere in AL for 5 new ones.

Must admit it was a tense day however it ended in the delivery of our R-25 in good order. All is well that....

Welcome bigdealsam. As others have posted, this is a great group with members being both knowledgeable and generous with their knowledge.
Bob, of fishheadbarandgrill, our previous boat was a 2011 R29. We learned a lot from the link "Andiamo, a Ranger 29 Tug" which you can find amongst the links set out at the right side of the TugNuts home page. It has some ideas that can be applied to any boat but other very informative ones applicable to yours. Enjoy your R29. We certainly did ours.
Jim.

My wife and I just purchased a 2015 R25sc with very low hours. It’s still up in Washington but should be heading our way by trailer the end of next week! We’re very excited to get it into the water down here in San Diego!
