Hi Guys,

While checking on my boat during the storm I noticed my Webasco heater flashing and it read "heater run required"

I pushed a few buttons and it came on with little heat.

Is this a scheduled pre-maintenance that it needs to perform?

At the last boat show I was able to attend I met up with the local Wabasto distributor and asked what maintenance I should be doing. He told me to crank the heater to max every 4-6 weeks, that’s all. In the winter, if the boat is in use like ours, that’s easy. In the summer it means opening the windows and letting all the heat out. Apparently it’s only needed for a few minutes and then shut down. It’s needed to keep the fuel in the system fresh and prevent deposits forming. Your system was probably just asking to be used.

That sound like the right answer since it didn't get very hot and cycled on and off.

Thanks for the fast reply...

On mine (2021 RT31CB) when the red lights flash maintenance required is displayed on the screen with start or snooze. If you select start the heater starts and goes into a maintenance cycle for 20 minutes then automatically shuts off. You can monitor the maintenance cycle by observing the countdown timer displayed on the screen.
