We have Webasto air conditioners with FCF thermostat for the main cabin and a second one for the berth. The one in the berth runs the fan on high and does not respond to changes on the thermostat. It's like sleeping next to a jet engine. When I googled it there is a programming function that allows you to set the fan to a fixed level or automatic. I am thinking that at some point it got locked into the high setting. From what I have read the programming mode for the fan is “b” and setting “ba” or “b1 to 5” with b5 being locked into high fan speed and “ba” being automatic. When I googled the picture of the thermostat it said Webasto FCF Classic digital display.
Does anyone know how to get the FCF thermostat into programming mode?

I have the same issue with a brand new 2025 C32Coupe. Berth fan speed is unacceptably high and non responsive to fan speed changes. Plus it never changes temperature. My dealer is giving me the run around. I’m gonna look into this too—see who finds the answer first!

I have a 2015 RT with the FCF thermostat. My problem is that I cannot adjust the temperature. AC is set at 79 degrees and the ac unit works fine. I don't know if there is a setting adjustment or if I need a new thermostat. Also, if new one is needed Defender has them for $141.

Based on what you are describing it sounds like your FCF controler is locked. You should be able to unlocked the controller by holding down the up arrow and the down arrow simultaneously until the unit unlocks.

Thank God for U TUBE!! Pressing the temp. decrease button and the fan button at the same time locks it up. Doing same again unlocks it and allows you to change the setting!! It seems you also have to turn off the bottom auto feature.

@DC3, I’ve complained about the same thing, and found the same thing online that you found. Turns out, the FCF Platinum, as best as I can tell, does not have a way to stop that fan from running. As best as I can tell, any hints that these units can be programmed otherwise is AI hallucination. I had Gemini insist that it could be done and when I asked for proof that it could, it turns out it was looking at a Dometic manual.

Sadly, I don’t think these units can be configured not to run the fan all the time. TBH, IMHO, that makes the master AC unit useless. I want to use it at night, but I can’t sleep next to a jet airplane. I’m looking into options for replacing it.
