I have a 2021 C28 that I took down to the last few gallons of fuel in the diesel tank for the first time. With about 10 gallons of fuel left onboard, I was having trouble starting the Webasto heater. I heard the pump clicking away during the start sequence, so figured that it just wasn't priming due to the low fuel level in the main tank. No problem, head to the fuel dock and fill it up.
However, with a mostly full tank it's still clicking away and not priming. I pulled the fuel filter for the Webasto under the aft cabin hatch and was easily able to blow air through it in both directions, indicating it was clear. I also blew air backwards from the fuel filter into the main fuel tank to clear any blockages, and blew air forwards towards the furnace from the pump to try to clear any blockages there so I know the lines are clear.
When I disconnect the line downstream from the webasto pump, hold it over a cup and run the start sequence, very little fuel comes out and gets into the cup. The fuel filter is also not filling with fuel so I think the problem is that the pump is not priming fuel up from the main diesel tank through the lines to the filter and into the pump inlet. Has anyone else had this problem, how do you re-prime the system after prime has been lost? I've run the start sequence probably a dozen times trying to get it to prime.
