Hi - I feel like I should know this answer but don't. Is there a separate diesel fuel tank for the Webasto on the 31CB? Our's fires up, a/c switches on, air comes out, but no heat. I looked at the 29 Users manual and it shows a separate tank so just wondering if a/the 31 has one and b/if so, how to fill it. Or, perhaps there's another reason it's not generating heat? We won't be back to the boat until Thursday the 23rd, will try a few things again then. Also, is the Generator configuration on the 29 the same as on the 31? Our generator isn't getting any power (Ranger team has looked at it) and we're having it evaluated at Roche harbor this week where boat is. If the schematic is the same then it'd be useful to send them the picture.

Thanks!

Carla

Please clarify. Your statement is somewhat unclear. You mention the a/c comes on and then you ask about diesel fuel. These are two different type systems. Air conditioning with reverse cycle will provide heat, but you will be using 110 Volts from shore power or a generator. A Webasto diesel heater will be using 12 Volts and Diesel fuel for heat. Which one are you using?

To answer your first question: the Webasto diesel furnace on my 2016 R31CB uses the primary diesel fuel tank (i.e. it does not have a separate tank).

Thanks for answer on separate tank for Webasto Diesel furnace, didn't think it had a separate one. I am using Webasto Diesel on shore power. I didn't mean to imply 'a/c', I used that term because those are the panel switches that need to be on for the air to flow. And they were on, still no heat.

hmm. the webasto heater runs off 12 volt on my boat. you need the house batteries on.

It isn't clear to me whether you are getting any power to the Webasto unit. You mention that air is coming out (which implies that it is getting power), but no heat. Does the power button on the Webasto control panel light up when you press it? It is really hard to see if it is on-- and it can take some time for the heat to start.

Assuming that it is getting power, I would recommend pulling the furnace fuse, waiting a few minutes and then reinserting the fuse. I had a minor issue with my Webasto shortly after delivery and this was the solution recommended by the factory.

On my 21012 R29, the Webasto furnace has no switches on the main electrical panel.

On the Webasto control unit mounted to the side of the aft dinette seat is a small on/off button and two knobs, one for fan speed and one for adjusting the amount of heat.

Okay Wabasto diesel heater uses 12 volts. Shore power will only be charging your 12 volt system if you have your charger on. It should have its own fuses and there are two, one for the blower and one for ignition. Check your fuses. If fuses are okay and If the air is just blowing with no heat check your settings. It does have a setting for just blowing air. Usually if there is an ignition issue (no heat) the unit will shut down and there is a flashing light that blinks several times and depending on how many times, that will be the code number to reference. It will be one blink and then several small blinks. Count the succession of small blinks.

One last thought on this. The switch marked "Heater" on the electrical panel is for the Heater Craft or Red Dot heater that uses engine heat much like the heater in a car. It is a separate system from the Webasto furnace, and the engine must be running and warmed up for it to produce heat.

I think that may be what the original poster was using, and thought it was for the furnace.

Now that sounds like you may have nailed it.
