What did you work on/fix today?

IMG_9422.jpegThis one is a layup. Never sure which cockpit switch is which. Used to leave underwater lights on by mistake. Lights up blue when on. Amazon.

Took some time to throw in a new battery, out with the Battleborn 100ah placeholder, and in with the 630ah lithionics placeholder until the 3 330 ah dakota batteries came in.
Also, put a thru hull exhaust for a heater in as its super freaking cold in Florida. Used a check Chinese diesel heater for now. I'm going to the springs to camp this weekend and wanted heat. Ill install an espar gas-fired heater sometime permanently. more exhaust sleeving arrives tomorrow. Also need to make a tie down for the battery

I’m in the middle of this one. By far the sexiest project mentioned so far!
Changing out the seven tires on our triple axle trailer with the 10,000 pound boat on it! Changing out the tires on a double axle is a snap compared to working on a triple axle!
The prior Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires were 7+ years old and had only about 4,000 miles on them. The trailer sat unloaded and rarely used at a Cutwater site for its first 5 years. The Carlisle tires are still in surprisingly good shape per my tire dealer.
The process to change all seven tires is time consuming since I am using just a single 20K pound bottle jack and a Trailer-Aid Plus ramp. In order to have only one wheel off the trailer at a time, I am following a 17 step process to get everything done.

Made a simple 3D printed holder for the drain plug behind the sink. I did not like the chain flopping around so I removed it. There is a little ridge on the holder so it wont bounce out. I don't know if all FM boats use the same sinks plugs or not. My plug is 2.00" x .60" with a .38" diameter chain mount nub.

Here is the STL file if you want to print one:

Used removeable double sided tape to mount it.

Thank you....Downloaded the file, printed and now sporting a drain plug holder....Perfect!!! Thanks again!

I am a little embarrassed about this "fix".
My wife was not liking the heater, in the front V berth, blowing in her face. So I kinda hacked together a quick solution. I removed the screws on the vent and stuck some sticky back Velcro behind each side with the ends sticking out (left the backing on the sticking out parts). Then I got a 3" PVC drainage elbow and wrapped Velcro around one end.
I am sure there is a more elegant solution, but it does work great.

I removed the ice maker from our cockpit in anticipation of installing a door to use the space for storage. Our ice maker died last season.IMG_3311.JPG

I installed a Chromecast device to the main cabin TV. I found a neat little device that allowed me to tap into the 12vdc supplied to the TV and gave me a USB output to power the Chromecast device. This allowed me to mount everything on the back of the TV. The last step was to pair the Chromecast Bluetooth with the stereo Bluetooth and now I can stream anything I want and have it play on both the TV and stereo. All wiring happened right at the back of the TV.

I had first tried this with an Apple TV device, but that device is way too bulky. Besides Chromecast includes Apple TV as one of its apps.

You do have to choose one of the HI connectors to leave unplugged. And manually plug it in if you want the third input.

Are you able to stream from your phone to the TV w/ this? Or do you have wifi?

I turned on my hotspot and use that. However you can cast from your phone as well if you're on the same network.

Blow out valve for quick winterizing. 3 way ball valve. I used compressed air on the rv so I made the same port for the boat!

Pulled the door off my Nova Kool fridge today. The bottom frame is cracking from the weight of the front panel insert. Just ordered some small plastic corner brackets that I plan on screwing into each bottom corner. Should be a good fix. Look for pics next week after the parts arrive.
Would like to see how you repaired. Have the same issue, Thanks
