What is normal engine temp on Volvo Diesel D3 - 300 HP in CB31

My 2014 31s runs at 185-195 up to 3100, goes to 203 at 3250, and will climb to 205-206 at WOT. Just bought this and had issues of temp alarm going off at WOT until previous owner changed out mixing elbow, oil cooler and did a big clean of bottom growth in thru hull.

I’m pretty sure you mean the Volvo D4 300. That is the engine that we have and it always stays rock solid at 185° after getting up to temperature, no matter what the RPM.

Your temp should not exceed the 185-189 mark. REALLY the 185 is the temp you would want to stay under. Check Impeller, whichs helps water flow to cool the engine. It might be time to change. If full time in the water check the through hull or between the through hull and strainer there might be some barnacle build up. PM me for any questions.

My experience is that same as John’s on Wee Venture. Once up to temp, our 2019 D4 300 is also a steady 185 at all cruising speeds and WOT.
