What is your essential kit to pack when you go out? Tools, belts, silicone, fuel filter..... looking at the mechanical/repait side of things.
I am looking to see what items y'all think are essential.

Thanks!

Fan belt, filters, fluids, impeller, tools and drill, snorkel and mask (although I would have to be desperate before I used those).

Will be adding plugs for through-hulls, filter wrench.....

Spare belts. Spare impeller. Extra filters. Tools. Electrical tape. Rescue tape. First aid kit. Hose clamps of several different sizes. Metal inerts that match inside diameter of hoses for quick repair. Flashlight batteries. Fuses. Bulbs for running lights.
Non perishable foods...beanie'weenies, sardines, stuff like that. Drinking water.

never would have considered snorkel and mask and it is a great idea! all these are good ideas.
Thanks and please keep your ideas coming.

The one thing I seem to use a lot....VOM meter.

Spare parts lists from Ranger Tugs can be found at the link below:

Kenny Marrs from the factory sent me the following tool list.

TOOL LIST

METRIC AND STANDARD SOCKET SET
METRIC AND STANDARD OPEN END WRENCH SET
METRIC AND STANDARD ALLEN WRENCH SET
DIGITAL VOLT METER
DRILL BIT SET
CORDLESS DRILL
SCREWDRIVER SET
SQUARE HEAD SCREWDRIVER SET
WIRE CRIMPERS
WIRE STRIPPERS
ASSORTED LENGTH ZIP TIES
ELECTRICAL TAPE
TEFLON TAPE
TUBE OF MARINE GRADE SEALANT
MISCELLANEOUS ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS
DIAGONAL PLIERS
VICE GRIPS
CHANNEL LOCKS
ADJUSTABLE WRENCH
MISCELLANEOUS AUTOMOTIVE BLADE FUSES
SMALL BUTANE TORCH
JUMPER CABLES
NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS
SNAP RING PLIERS
RESCUE TAPE

I keep both sets of these items on the boat as well as enough oil and coolant to do a full change as well as the ancillary items mentioned above.

That's about the best, most complete list I've seen on a boating forum. I'm not a Ranger Tug owner yet, but I've done lots of long cruises in my 32 year-old 21' Sea Ray cuddy. I carry enough tools, spares and such to launch a space shuttle.

Perfect Answer.

If I carried all that crap I wouldn't be able to fit the family. If I was taking a longer trip I still don't think I would carry all that junk.

I have a can of WD40 and a Letherman. If that cant fix it I call the mechanic.

Are you guys preppers or cruisers? :?:
