What Storage Box Works with the R-27 Sports rack

Can any one assist with information related to the correct Thule storage box to use with sports rack that comes with the R-27?

Hi Barry:

I used a Yakima Skybox Pro 12, special ordered thru REI.

It fits either side of solar panel, and Adjusts to fit crossbar spread of 37 inhes of R-27.

And it stays on at freeway speeds.

I used the same box on my R 27 when I had it and it worked fine. It can open from either side and was an excellent extra storage unit. It is easy to access dockside but a little difficult standing on the gunnel. I was never able to reach "freeway speed" on my R 27!

I have a Yakima as well, I think it may fit our crossbars better since Yakima attaches to a round bar as supposed to Thule which is square.

We just got a Yakama skybox 14 for our 25. The 16 was two inches wider and about 6 inches longer. We picked the Yakama as Yakama sells a round crossbar kit for cars that don't have crossbars so I figured it fit round bars. Also the latches seemed better, it opened from either side and the mounting brackets don't protrude up into the cargo area of the box as much as the thule brackets did. Now if I can just get it on the boat before we leave for Canada!

I have a Thule Ascent 1100 on my R-27. It opens from either side and leaves lots of room for the solar panel. I changed the box mounting hardware to marine quality.

I installed my Yakama 14 skybox today. Took all of 10 minutes. Does anyone know if having these carriers or kayaks up top causes any interference with radar scanning to the rear? The dome is still above it but just wondered.

Anyone have experience with the skybox 16? Someone is selling one cheap and I was wondering if it would work with the R27
