In June of last year we purchased a 2011 C28. The engine had 748 hours on it. Most of those hours were in fresh water.

Now that we are approaching its tenth year and it now has 1,005 hours on it, I am seriously considering replacing all of the coolant and water intake hoses as a preventative maintenance project. My concern is that we my be leaving ourselves at risk for periodic hose failure over the next few years; and it happens at the worst possible time. I plan to do most of the work myself to keep the costs down.

Thoughts ??

According to what I have read, marine inboard engine manufacturers recommend inspecting at least every year with preventive maintenance replacements starting at 10 years of service.
We are at 11 years of service and have replaced the exhaust hose and turbo oil hose (2x) due to condition issues. I check all the accessible hoses and clamps in the spring and have a pro mechanic check them every time any engine maintenance is done.
