Where does the Volvo 3584145 Breather Filter for Volvo Penta Case D4 go?

The Volvo Owners Manual does not show the location, only that it should be replaced once a year.

This is an engine crankcase ventilation filter. There is a filter housing just aft of the air filter housing.The photos show the housing and location.

there is a round cup on the stern starboard side of the engine at the top. towards the stern from the main air filter. The cap twists off and inside is the crankcase filter.

I noticed that http://www.marinepartsexpress.com sells a Service Kit # 21704968 for $428. including free shipping, So this will be an annual cost for maintaining my D4-300.
