My wife and I are retired in our late 60's and are interested in the Ranger 27. Like the layout and the fact it is trailerable. Have owned sail and power boats, both moored and on trailer. Would like to cruise the East coast, but have also cruised Puget Sound and north. Have found a R29 and R31 to charter, but really want to Charter a R27 as that is what we are considering to buy. West coast or East coast is fine with us. Thanks, Mark & Jane

I think finding a R27 to charter may be difficult. The market for chartering that size boat is just too small. My R29, Serendipity, is in charter service with Anacortes Yacht Charters. Last year a couple who were, like you, interested in a 27 chartered it just so they could get a feel for the quality and the systems, many of which are the same. He told me later that he did indeed, buy a 27. They were easily convinced after spending a week on the 29, even though the 27 was a bit smaller.

Mark,
Where did you charter the R29?

See the post from Serendipty at Anacortes Yacht Charters above. We have not yet chartered a R27 - does not seem to be available . Would like to see one up close and in person. We are in Dallas, but are willing to travel to check one out, we love road trips. I was raised in Florida (Melbourne Beach), we were married in Key West. Love warm salt water.
