Maybe it's a silly question, but where can I hang a fire extinguisher in my new 25 SC? I'm beginning to bring my stuff down from my old sailboat, but am finding it difficult to find storage. And I'd give anything for a drawer! Maybe I just need to get rid of things?

I'm having trouble deciding where to hang my 2nd fire extinguisher, two are required on the R27. The first one I mounted just inside the "cave" on the right side of the opening, it should work there on the R25SC as well.

On my R-27 I installed one on the port side above the shelf above yor head as you walk in from the cockpit. Not sure if the R-25 has that. The second one I installed sideways on the port side above where you would sleep on the wood panel. I figured this way you have coverage at both ends of the boat.

You might want to think about where a fire might occur and where crew might be, and position them where crew might be able to grab one quickly without having to get too near the fire.

We have three on our 26-foot diesel cruiser. Two 5's in the cabin, one mounted on the forward end of some galley cabinetry just aft of the helm, and one high on the bulkhead between the dinette table and the head, across from the stove. A 10 in the cockpit on one side near the rear bulkhead of the cabin.

This was my thinking. I installed 3 in our R27. On is in the V-Berth, port side on the wood panel not far from the light. Another in the galley area, on the side wall just behind the helm seat. The third is in the rear port corner of the cabin, on the angled panel between the side window and rear window.
I also purchased the Kidde metal mounting brackets, I felt the plastic ones that came with the extinguishers were too weak.

I finally took some pictures of the fire extinguishers in our R27. I purchased Kidde metal brackets instead of using the plastic ones that came with the fire extinguishers. Much more secure and still quick release.
