Which Ranger for Sitka ,Ak

Hello Everyone,
New here and seriously considering a Ranger. My question is which Ranger would be most useful in the waters around Sitka? I have seen a 21 for sale in Juneau but am hesitant to purchase based on short gunwales... Any advice for a new boat wander would be welcome

It's not Sitka but we enjoyed our R-25 cruising out of the Kodiak harbor. The boat handled the open water in the open Gulf of Alaska. When the swells or tides were building and too deep for our comfort we would quickly duck behind an island or head to the harbor. The R-25 had space for us to invite friends along for most trips. From our experiences the R-25 or bigger worked for us. Don

Sitka was one of our favorite places to visit in our R31 this past summer. Getting there was the best part.

I spent 10 days on a 65' trawler out of Sitka last spring. We stayed in amongst the islands pretty much....very little open ocean. I wouldn't be comfortable with the low gunwales on the 21' Tug....prefer my 27'.

We run a 25 classic on PWS and lower Cook Inlet. It's plenty boat for sane operators.
