Willie's Tug and Nudibranch have been on an Alaskan Adventure. Willie has been doing a daily blog on our travels. She is a bit behind, but with internet the past few days, she is starting to catch up to real time. The latest post to her blog is here: http://andwilliesaid.blogspot.ca/2015/0 ... o-red.html you may find it interesting to check the past pages from about mid June to the present.

Thanks for looking.

Herb and Willie,

Walldog, Really enjoyed the up date of your adventure, How did you determine you ports of call/anchorages? Would you have time to trace a route of your voyage?

Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,

We are glad you enjoyed Willie's Blog updates of our time in Alaska. We are using several different guides and anchorage reviews from Active Captain. I will put together a list and post it soon. My log notes will make an article to give times, distances, facilities, etc. which I will post here after we return to the lower 48.

We wake up this morning in Clothes Bay just outside of Klemtu, BC. Yesterday was a home run as far as having it all in one day. Our journey from Butedale started in rain, then fog for most of the way, then sunshine for the end of the day at Clothes Bay. Clothes Bay is a small anchorage, we are the only boat in it. A much larger boat is anchored just outside the bay and off the main channel. While here I put out the crab pot and we had a couple of nice Dungeness crabs for dinner. During happy hour a whale showed up and performed for us in the channel just outside of the anchorage. I thought he had moved on, but later I heard and then saw him actually come through the anchorage less than 500 feet from our boat and exit a narrow and shallow passage to our South. To top it off we have cellular and therefore internet here. If the fireweed was not blooming so near the top, I would be tempted to stay another day or two here.

Keep reading her blog, Willie enjoys hearing from her readers.

Herb

Wonderful blog... Thank you for sharing.

Shame you didn't have Spot II on board so we all could keep a watchful eye open to see where you were/are.

I also would like to see a course map of your travels to put it all in perspective when reading the blog.

No matter, thanks. 😀

Hi Barry,

Actually we do have a SPOT aboard. We do not use the Tracking feature because it uses a lot of battery power and we would not be able to carry enough of the type batteries it takes for a 3 month journey...grins. We do send an OK message to our family each evening though.

Herb and Willie --- That answers my question. Been following you as much as I can, but you keep disappearing. What a wonderful journey and such a wonderful blog. Glad to see that you are heading home. --- Cary
