If the C28 in the wind is anything like the R27 the answer is not much at all. The bow thruster can handle more than the stern. It depends on the angle of the wind, other objects nearby providing some protection (usually other boats at the dock) and the current as well. If you are being pushed broadside by the wind I don’t think the thrusters could overcome more than a few knots. A little momentum will go a long way towards getting you into the dock though. The thrusters will still do a good job of adjusting your angle. If 2 or 3 seconds of thruster doesn’t do it don’t bother. More won’t help and you will just drain your thruster battery (and potentially blow a fuse if you lay on them too much).
