windlass dead

Two weeks ago the windlass on my R 27 worked like a charm--up and down on command. My screw up here because I did not check it before heading out on this cruise. But, here I am, on the hook in a beautiful harbor (all parking spots taken) and the windlass is dead.

So, I released the manual break a little, let the anchor, chain and line out, set it, and all is well. I'll just have to haul 'er in by hand as I have done for years on my smaller fishing boat.

But nevertheless, would like have it working. Any suggestions? There is a flat four prong plug disconnected in the anchor well, but I can't see where it plugs in if indeed that is the problem. Fuse? I'm a couple of days from home port. Not really a big deal. I can manhandle the anchor for the rest of the trip, but . . .

The flat four plug in the anchor well connects to the trailer lights so you have the built in running lights on the boat working with the trailers lights. Are you sure you have the main rotary switch that controls both the thrusters and windlass turned on? I forget to do that sometimes in a senior moment....

I trust you remembered to turn on the circuit breaker. We always turn ours on and off before and after each use to avoid accidental anchor deployment.

What year is your 27 on our 2011 the breaker is at the helm and there have been times that I inadvertently hit it and no power to the windless. It is a single lever breaker with the red button and yellow lever. Check it out. Also, I think the thruster battery is for the windless as well, check the main switch for the thruster battery.

Thanks S. Todd and Knotflying. I reset the circuit breaker that I inadvertently hit with my knee and just like that I had anchor up and down on demand.
