I own a 2019 R23 My starboard helm station window works fine. My port forward window does not. The pull knob will not release and I cannot pull it back to move the pin away from the window latch. How can I repair this or at least remove it so I can open the window?

Hi Don,

Not sure if this is the issue, but the latch rotates to lock in the "open" position. If it is locked, it will not move in either direction until unlatched. To unlock it, slightly pull in and rotate the knob until it is able to slide fully. Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers,

Ralf

Hi Ralf, the knob will rotate slightly but absolutely will not pull out. I think the spring inside is crimped or broken. Is there a way to disassemble it? I can’t open the window and I live in Florida!

I had a bit of trouble with the knob winding back on the threads. It is difficult to tighten the knob as the chrome shaft spins.
I had to take the knob off and add some loctite. A very small pair of needle nose pliers helped to hold the chrome shaft while tightening.
Hope this helps

Hi Don,

To add to what lyons den mentioned, make sure the knob is able to rotate. It needs to rotate about a quarter turn to allow it to be unlocked (or locked). Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the tips. The knob will rotate a bit but not a full quarter turn. How can I remove the knob for repair?

My starboard window knob is broken into 3 pieces (plastic knob pin and spring).

Where can I purchase a replacement?

Thank you

Joe
