Winter Cruising in PNW

I just checked with Bridge Bay Marina and even though the services officially close on 9/12 you can still be able to launch and retrieve your boat at the boat ramp past 9/12, assuming safe water levels. The same is true at Leeks Marina & Signal Mtn. on Jackson Lake. The Ranger said that fishing is still good through October. Just know that if you come from out of state that you need an aquatic species inspection and a WY boating permit.

Let's hope the water level holds.

Here’s a link to the Jackson Lake water level. There’s a graphic on the page showing the minimum water levels for each launch ramp. Leeks is the last one to be unusable due to low water levels. I’ve been to the Signal Mountain ramp and didn’t like it. Leeks has a maximum parking of three consecutive days so I guess every three days you move your trailer over to Colter Bay for a day then bring it back to Leeks.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Flaming Gorge. Awesome spot with fabulous fishing. Water level was down about 10 feet from full pool. I was surprised to see it that high. Locals indicated this is the lowest level they have seen in 20 years.

Just a heads up there is no water at the Cedar Springs marina. Apparently they have a lease with the forest service that includes water supply. There are a couple breaks in the lines and due to a number of retirements at the forest service no staff available to fix. Needless to say local slip holders are not happy.

At Lucerne Marina there are no working pump outs. They are revamping their pump outs and estimate about a month away best case.

Bottom line carry a Katadyn water purifier for drinking. Pump out at Cedar Springs and refill water at Lucerne. Use your macerator at the RV dump at Lucerne when you pull out for a $7 charge. Do not rely on pump outs at Buckboard Marina.

Thanks to all who contributed. I feel that I have a headstart on making plans for a dreamed cruise.
