For the four seasons I had my R-29 CB, I used compressed air to winterize the fresh water system. I ran the compressed air into the hose at the outlet side of the water pump. Worked great and had no problems. Was much easier at spring commissioning time.

Our R-31 CB has an accumulator downstream of the water pump. Reasoning this through, I believe that I can winterize with the system the same way and blow through the line that exits the water pump and goes to the accumulator. Anyone else have an accumulator and use compressed air? If so, what's your procedure?

Thank you!

My accumulator is located where the generator goes, so it is outside in the cockpit. I winterize my 2 outside taps (cockpit sink and swim step shower), including my accumulator.

For me, I just let the accumulator tank push out all the water by opening the taps. I then remove the line from the lowest connection point (at my accumulator) and let anything else drain out. From there I just leave all the taps open, and the connection disconnected. Anything left in the accumulator should push itself out if it needs to expand, but there shouldn't be much left.
