I am going to be placing my 2011 R-29 in storage for the winter next month (Oct.) Do you recommend using a fuel stabilizer?

Thanks,

Jon

I use FPPF all the time and when storing fill the tank. Everybody has different thoughts on whether it should be topped off or not, but I have not had any issues, so if it works why fix it.

Thanks Knotflying. I do plan to top off the tanks, was not sure about the stabilizer. I read in the yanmar manual that they do not recommend using an additive but not sure it that is the same as using a stabilizer.
thanks,

Jon

FPPF was recommended by the instructor at my Mack Boring diesel class. Mack Boring is the Yanmar distributor in the Northeast. He said use nothing but FPPF and use it as the directions say. For easy math I use 1 ounce per 10 gallons of fuel.

After seeing 1st hand what can grow inside a diesel tank, I also use a biocide as an additive year round. FPPF also makes a biocide but I have been using a cheaper one.

thanks to all of you! this is good info.
