Wiper issue

I have a 2014 C-28 and am having an issue with one of the wipers (starboard side). It functions briefly very slowly, like it is struggling, trips the switch panel breaker and stops. Occasionally it functions normally briefly (4 or 5 sweeps), then slows and trips the breaker.
I have taken the motor out of the window to make sure it is not binding. I have replaced the old motor with a new motor.
Is there anyway this is wiring or electrical in nature? It appears to struggle more (trip faster) when the port side is operating at the same time.
Any advice would be welcome.

If you replaced the motor and have the same symptoms it sounds like a high resistance issue. Assuming the wires are sized correctly, I would check the connections to make sure you have good bonding.

Thanks knotflying for the response. I re did the wiring, however still some issues, but the port motor is consistently working in low speed and only tripped during high speed. I took the boat out for an hour and both wipers worked well at both slow and high speed modes. I will test again tomorrow and see if I get any failures. I am starting to think maybe the switch needs replacing. Perhaps the resistance issue is there.

Before you replace the switch, take that switch panel out and switch the output wire on the "bad" switch with the same wire on a good switch and see if that is the real problem.

I found that that switch panel (on my R-27) is the only place on my boat that has enough slack wire and is easy to work on.
As I recall the hot feed to the four wipers is all the same line.
Good hunting.

Thanks rpmerill, when you say "output wire", are you referring to the high speed output wire (high speed appears to be causing the issue)? So just hook up the high speed port wire in the location where the high speed starboard is currently attached. Correct?
I have to admit I am not great (yet) at boat electronics, so my questions may be basic.
Thanks for the assistance trouble shooting.

Don't know nothin' 'bout high speed, but ya I think that's what I'm saying.
You've got a hot line coming into the switch and a line out of the switch going to the wiper(s).
It is the line out that you switch with one of the other wipers.
(I have four wipers and four switches.)

Anyway that should tell you if the switch is bad or the wire.
