Hey friends, I just checked on line to nab some a new wiper blade and arm - wow, $50 for one wiper arm :x

These wiper arms are really low quality, say compared to my wiper arms on my Toyota truck - $27 for the entire assembly!

Anyone replaced these with something better - they don't wipe all that well either, but perhaps because they are the originals.

I know everything about boats is expensive, but come on ....

As you say - the wipers are awful and noisy too on my R29.
I have used Rain-x on all my windows and don’t find the need for wipers at all. The water from rain and sea spray simply beads up and blows off. Some salt is left as a deposit but is easily cleaned off with a hose when back at the dock. Rob

We use the wipers only occasionally in our C-28 these days. Mostly in heavy rain or when getting lots of spray over the bow. Use to use Rain X on the outside. Got a tip from Bellingham Yachts several seasons ago about SeaPower Cleaner and Wax. They use it on all their boats.
We use SeaPower on both the inside and outside of all the cabin glass. On the outside, water beads up and blows off. Salt water leaves very little residue. It’s been a great product for us!
Found at Amazon, Home Depot and Napa Auto stores.
And, yeah, to your original comment, the wiper system isn’t the greatest. Keeping the return tension springs clean and corrosion free helps though.
