I am having a little trouble with the house battery running down. It is my understanding that when the engine is running, both batteries will be recharged. Am I correct on this assumption. Secondly, is there a wiring diagram available so I can try to chase out the circuits myself. other than this minor problem, the boat is great.

John:

You'll see there is a battery switch that might be set wrong. If the battery is dead, save yourself a lot of grief and replace both at once. That is some of the best advice I've gotten.

Also one thing to remember. If you have black and yellow charging relays, here is the deal. If your battery gets below 10.8 volts dc then they kick into isolator mode and will not charge with the engine. The only way to get it back up is to charge with the onboard battery charger and plug into shore. I would invest in a small handheld volt meter to read what voltage levels your batteries are at. The next thing I would suggest is watching the water levels in the batteries. Let me know if the house battery was below 10.8 volts. Thanks!

Thanks to all. I had zero volts reading from the house battery on my meter when I first detected the problem. I used the charger to recharge the battery to 14.6 volts. i have used the boat twice since then with the house battery in use. I checked both batteries after yesterday's run and read 14+ volts on each. Thanks again for the assiatance.

One other thing to note. The DC voltage monitor only goes down to 8 volts. Quite a few people automatically assume its 0.
