I've noticed in pictures that some boats have what looks like wood interior bulkheads and some are gelcoat. Am I correct to presume that the wood bulkheads are thin veneer over the gelcoat?

Thanks,
Bob

Most wood bulkheads are plywood with a better wood veneer. Gelcoat bulkheads are fiberglass with the gelcoat coating. I have never seen veneer put over gelcoat. It would be difficult to adhere the wood veneer to the gelcoat.

Just to be clear, I'm referring to the sides of the salon.
